Travelling
to Istanbul.
Dental treatment abroad is usually marketed as a package: a price, a number of days, and a result, all agreed before anyone has looked at your teeth. That sequence is backwards, and it is the reason a plan often changes once you arrive.
What follows is the actual order things happen in, and which parts genuinely cannot be settled in advance.

process.

Online consultation
A first conversation over video, with photographs of your teeth. It covers what you would like changed and gives an indication of whether the treatment you have in mind is likely to be appropriate. It is a preliminary discussion, not a diagnosis.

Treatment planning
If it makes sense to proceed, a provisional plan is outlined: which treatment is being considered, roughly how many appointments it would involve, and how long you would need to be in Istanbul. Anything that would change the plan after examination is flagged at this stage rather than after you arrive.

Examination in Istanbul
The first appointment in person is a clinical examination, with radiographs where needed. This is the point at which the plan is confirmed or revised. If the examination shows that the treatment discussed is not appropriate, that is said plainly.

Treatment
Treatment is normally carried out over two appointments within a single stay, with several days in between for the laboratory work. Temporary restorations are worn during that period so the planned shape can be assessed in ordinary use.

After you travel home
You leave with written details of what was done and the materials used, so any dentist can continue your care. Follow-up questions can be handled remotely, and anything requiring examination is referred to a dentist local to you where that is more practical than travelling back.

Can I have an online consultation before travelling?
Yes. An initial online consultation reviews photographs and what you would like changed, and gives an indication of whether the treatment you are considering is likely to be appropriate. It is a preliminary discussion rather than a diagnosis: a definitive treatment plan requires a clinical examination, and in some cases radiographs, which can only be done in person.
How many days should I stay in Istanbul?
Treatment is normally arranged as two appointments within a single stay, with several days in between for the laboratory work. The length of stay depends on how many teeth are involved and whether any preparatory treatment is needed first, so it is confirmed after assessment rather than quoted in advance. Booking return travel only after the plan is confirmed avoids having to rush the laboratory stage.
